This Medium-Deep bowl-shaped mouthpiece features a very wide, comfortable rim for hours of playing without fatigue. The inside of the rim is recessed slightly, allowing for a more full vibration of the lips. The extra mass, coupled with the shape of the cup, provides a solid, dark tone, with lots of core. Works well on 3&Mac218;4 and 4/4 contra-bass tubas and for larger bass tubas where a deeper, stronger voice is required. Also an excellent choice for sousaphone playing.

Rim Width: 8.87mm • Cup Diameter: 32.3mm • Throat: 8.43mm

This mouthpiece has the same size and shape cup as the MF1, providing a clear focused tone throughout the range of the instrument, but with a narrower, slightly rounded rim for better articulation and flexibility. This piece has proven particularly effective on the larger 5/4 and 6/4 tubas, providing extra clarity, control, and a distinct tone not easily achieved with other mouthpieces.

Rim Width: 7.62mm • Cup Diameter: 32.3mm • Throat: 8.43mm

The largest in the Mike Finn current line, the MF3 boasts a wider inside diameter and a more funnel-shaped cup. It features the same slightly rounded rim as the MF2 for excellent flexibility and ease of articulation. The depth and shape of the cup allow you to put a lot of air through the instrument, providing an expansive low register, and a rich, mellow tone.

Rim Width: 7.76mm • Cup Diameter: 33mm • Throat: 8.43mm

This new design features the 33mm cup diameter and comfortable rim of the MF3, but the bottom of the cup is more rounded, like the MF2. This will provide a little more resistance, and a stronger more powerful tone than it's counterpart. If you like the feel of the original MF3, but want more "presence" in your sound, this one may be the answer.

By popular demand, a replica of the MF3 with a sharper, narrower rim similar to some Hellebergs. This may help clear up some articulations and let you really "dig in", especially for the low register stuff.

This is the first true "solo" or F tuba Mike Finn mouthpiece. The shallower cup provides a lighter, more lively sound for solo and small ensemble playing. The rim contour and cup diameter match the MF2 perfectly, allowing the player to switch effortlessly between the two pieces as the situation (or instrument) requires. This eliminates the adjustment necessary at the embouchure, and lets you concentrate on making music.
